Behind the box
BlackBox Experiences emerged from the success of Escape Time Center, established in Medina in 2018. Our founders recognized that entertainment consumers were seeking experiences that went beyond passive consumption—they wanted to be active participants in their own stories.
The first game, inspired by the TV series Prison Break, launched on January 1, 2019, and immediately resonated with customers. As we evolved, we recognized that the elements of psychological horror, combined with intellectual puzzles and time pressure, created a uniquely engaging experience that customers couldn’t find elsewhere.
After serving over 26,000 customers and generating more than 3.6 million SAR in revenue, we’ve refined our concept into the BlackBox experience—a scalable, replicable model ready for expansion across the region through franchising.
Our journey has been validated through recognition in competitions such as Taybah Innovates 6, where we achieved first place after three months of rigorous evaluation by four separate judging panels, affirming the innovation and excellence of our concept.

Saif Abdullah
Embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Saudi’s new generation, transforming his early business acumen—first displayed at age 11 through scrap metal trading—into revolutionary entertainment concepts that challenge human potential. With a law degree providing his regulatory foundation, Saif founded one of Saudi Arabia’s first escape room ventures over seven years ago, serving more than 26,000 customers and earning royal recognition from HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman for his innovative approach to experiential entertainment. Described as a “genius in innovation” by Professor Raed Al-Khatib, Saif is now scaling his vision from a single location to BlackBox Experiences franchise model aligned with Saudi Vision 2030’s entertainment initiatives.
